Section 504
Section 504 is a federal civil rights law that protects the rights of students with a physical or mental impairment that substantially limits a major life activity. The Heartland AEA Section 504 consultant assists districts/schools to interpret and comply with this federal law. Districts/schools must make programs, activities and facilities accessible for all students.
If you are a parent and would like more information about Section 504 support, contact your district’s 504 Coordinator.
